The Organization of People in Need (OPN) was founded with the commitment to contribute meaningfully to Afghanistan’s humanitarian and development needs through community-driven, inclusive, and accountable interventions. To achieve its mission and vision, OPN pursues the following core objectives:
Provide timely and needs-based humanitarian relief to individuals and families affected by conflict, displacement, and natural disasters
Support vulnerable households through livelihood recovery, skill development, and sustainable income-generating initiatives that strengthen self-reliance and resilience.
Improve public health and well-being through hygiene awareness, clean water supply, and sanitation infrastructure in schools and communities.
Facilitate access to quality education and promote child protection and well-being, with a focus on girls’ education and school hygiene improvement.
Strengthen community-based protection mechanisms, raise awareness on rights and responsibilities, and support vulnerable groups including women, children, and persons with disabilities.
Assist displaced and disaster-affected families with essential non-food and shelter materials to ensure safety and protection during emergencies.
Improve community health through awareness on disease prevention, hygiene, nutrition, and maternal and child health practices.
Empower communities to engage in peacebuilding, collective problem-solving, and sustainable development that fosters social harmony and stability.
